If someone said ';The main titles r masked at 2.35:1 but the main feature is presented 1.85:1. '; about a movie what does that mean?If someone said ';The main titles r masked at 2.35:1 but the main feature is presented 1.85:1'; about a movie?
That is the ratio of the width:height of the movie.
I think a 2.35:1 is really, really wide screen whereas a 1.85:1 is only a little widescreen.
I have seen this before where for clarity of the names they make the opening of the movie widescreen mode, but the movie itself is ';pan and scanned'; to standard format for standard aspect ratio viewing. If someone said ';The main titles r masked at 2.35:1 but the main feature is presented 1.85:1'; about a movie?
They are referring to the size of the screen, like letterbox or wide screen
