Head masking effect for movies?

anyway, i done something like this.. i overlayed a video clip over another one.. or in the case of that video they used still images of his face which is easier..
It can be done easy in Adobe Flash if you have the patience..
Im not sure of any others that can do it, but havent heard of any free ones..

Has anyone else noticed that most scary movies have masks in them? The Saw, one missed call, or they never show the faces? (the ring)

Yes, the reason is that we human beings are very adept at reading other peoples emotions/intentions by looking at theior faces and seeing the subtle differences in expressions.
By wearing a mask, it makes it much scarier for us because we can't tell what someone is thinking. immediately they become a threat to us because we can't see their face.

The idea was that they would hold some of the CO2 when a crewmember exhales. Since one was breathing 100% O2, this would help prevent hyperventilating. It was found not to work really well and was another place of potential mask leaks-and was abandoned.
Instead of having those bags now, military aircraft have a switch that selects Normal or 100% oxygen.

Movie Title!? Movie of: building, old man stuck in elevator, masked hero, machine gun man, mirrored scene.?
I saw this movie a long time ago from about half way through. I believe that the building this movie took place in was time warped because there were some chinese or mongolian soldiers guarding at the bottom. I remember a man who was old and reminds me of woody allen. He later on is helped out by a woman. While all this is going on, there are like bad guys in the building that this masked hero is fighting, one of which was a guy with an old school machine gun. In the final like boss kinda guy, the masked hero fights him in a room walled with mirrors. His mask comes off from fighting and I remember him being like really cool handsome actor. He then makes a knife to levitate and go into the bad guy. It ends with him returning to the streets where he puts on regular clothes seemlesly like clark kent. Everyone on the streets, including the hero, are wearing clothes out of the 30s and 40s. So I saw this movie on TV a LONG time ago. I think it was filmed in the 80's. The part I saw was with a music conductor imagining how he was going to murder this girl and frame another guy. His whole plot was to go buy some masks off some people, knock the guy out, take his mask and kill the girl in front of a camera, then switch back masks and act sad. Ring any bells? So I saw this movie on TV a LONG time ago. I think it was filmed in the 80's. The part I saw was with a music conductor imagining how he was going to murder this girl and frame another guy. His whole plot was to go buy some masks off some people, knock the guy out, take his mask and kill the girl in front of a camera, then switch back masks and act sad. Ring any bells? I cannot remember what it was called..What is that movie! (It involves a conductor, murder, and masks.. ring a bell?)?

Are these masks in the link i provide good enough to be in a horror movie i was thinking of making?
I found this website by pure luck and i think there products are good enough to be movie quality, but i would like other opinions before i by some masks for this movie i'm making.

Well, it depends on what kind of movie. Obviously it will be a low budge movie and I do believe those would work.
Paying for a makeup artist to actually do it would cost way to much money.
i think The Clown, Bones, Shredd, and Nefarious are the best ones. i dont know what ur movie is gonna be about or what the quality is going to be tho. and all those contacts look really cool. i think the most disturbing looking one is Jaws tho because it doesnt even look like an eye. its really freaky

Dont you think getting to know someone is infinitely more pleasing than to meet some guy behind a hockey mask, or in a puppet suit, or whatever?There is always the moment when the killer is unmasked and spews out his bitterness and hate and vindictive triumph over his would-be victims. This is unsatisfying, no? How about just once, at the crucial moment, the killer gets squished under something, and we never do find out who he was?In horror movies, wouldnt you rather get to know the murderer as a person rather than some guy behind a mask?

people are more comfortable thinking that THEY are smart, good, etc. they don't want to see themselves as the murderers, even tho they are both murder adn victim and gawking-bystander at once.
the people cutting me off in traffic are murderers -- who just hadn't killed anyone with their car yet. drunk druvers are murdererers -- who hadn't hit their victim with their car yet.
the murder without his mask is YOU. but you won't pay money for a movie that criticizes you for 2 hours.In horror movies, wouldnt you rather get to know the murderer as a person rather than some guy behind a mask?
I think in some cases it is better not to know who the killer is. It adds to the mystery and horror of it all. People are naturally afraid of what they cant see or know, and to not know who is killing someone adds to the horror and suspense.
If the killer dies at the end, though, then the audience would probably be over the fear because the danger is gone, and then they would be curious who the killer was. Then I think it is okay to reveal the bad guys identity.
I think it's creepier when the killer has no motive or anything and is just murdering for the hell of it. It is kind of corny sometimes when the killer reveals him/herself and explains their plans and why they did everything. Urban Legend is what comes to mind. Not to mention that most of the time when they give that speech it gives an opportunity for someone to sneak in from behind and attack them. Too cliche and boring.

but the movie P2(2007) was kinda different. the killer was not an beast animal person or a guy behind a mask. and this was one of the positive points of the movie. i hope directors pay attention to this fact.
either way, as long as the film is made by a good directer with a good cast then i'm happy regardless. i love horror films.

The plot was that things seemed normal (similar to The Matrix) but people started realizing that these were false memories (or ';perceptions';, really) and that everyone was horribly maimed from radiation or something. Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 question (masking)?
Ok I recently got my wish of getting a Sony Vegas program so I can make some cool AMVs (anime music videos) but I've been trying to do a certain effect %26amp; I can't figure out how to do it. Every other person I've seen who does it has a different Vegas program then me. I bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, mostly because of the fact that it was the only one Best Buy had. Anyways I've been trying to do masking (the kind where you cut out a moving object so that's all that scene.) Its done in this video (AMV):

I found it extremely annoying when the red cloacked old guy (the leader) and Tom Cruise were going back and forth repeating their dialogue/questions over and over again S-L-O-W-L-Y. Totally retarded there.

its a movie you would show to a junior high choir class. I used to love it but I know it isn't called phantom of the opera. The man lives alone in his castle (I remember very little because it was so long) and this girl comes along and he starts giving her singing lessons. He wears half a mask and he has to walk around with a cane because he was burnt (actually I don't know what the reason is, I just remember his face was greenish and deformed and he limped when he walked and he walked with a cane) and he was got amde alot at the girl. Your going to need to be more specific. I immediately thought of Dee Wallace (Drew Barrymore's mom from E.T.) in The Howling. At the beginning of the film she is forced to watch a XXX film where armed masked men home invade a bedroom and sexually assault its' occupants. However, in Nicholas Cages 8mm, the whole premise of revolves around the finding of a ';Snuff'; film and the disproving of its' genuineness (though no porn actresses where shot, the masked men where at the END of the film). There are so many films where nude women are shot at but not at the beginning. I also remember the beginning scene in 48 Hrs where a nude prostitute is trying to stop a cop from pursuing a masked James Remar, but he (the cop) knocks her out. If you can recall if this was a large budget film (i.e. Robert De Niro, John Travolta, et cetera) and who might have been in it, I can probably help ya out. If it was a lesser known film,a foreign film or an Indy, I might be able to, but haven't seen a lot of them in the last 4 or 5 years...Hope I can helpmyspace comments

I also remember the beginning scene in 48 Hrs where a nude prostitute is trying to stop a cop from pursuing a masked James Remar, but he (the cop) knocks her out. If you can recall if this was a large budget film (i.e. Robert De Niro, John Travolta, et cetera) and who might have been in it, I can probably help ya out. If it was a lesser known film,a foreign film or an Indy, I might be able to, but haven't seen a lot of them in the last 4 or 5 years...Hope I can help

Plot: Paris is starving, but the King of France (Louis XIV) is more interested in money and bedding women. When a young soldier dies for the sake of a shag, Aramis, Athos and Porthos band together with a plan to replace the king. Unknown to many, there is a 2nd king, a twin, hidden at birth, then imprisoned for 6 years behind an iron mask. All that remains now is D'Artagnan, will he stand against his long time friends, or do what is best for his country?

All i can remember about the film is this guy carries this mask in his coat. He pulls it out then spins it into the air. One scene he kills a nurse with it, makes her vomit out her esophagus after stating '; i can't breathe. After that he does it again to some guy laying in a hospital bed. Do you know this movie? about this guy in a mask ';& never took it off?
i watched it last year but it was about a guy wearing a mask and he never took it off but he kidnapped this girl who eventllly ran away and then she got caught by some one and she had to go to this jail type of thing and they shaved all her hair and when they ley her go she found out she was always with the guy in the mask then by the end she fell in love with him but he died and she blew up a buliding with a subway with alot of people watching and the same mask as him..

Once Upon a Forest (1993)

In a beautiful forest called Dapplewood, there are many animals that live there. Four of them are Furlings (a term for animal children): the tomboyish woodmouse Abigail, the hungry hedgehog Russell, the brainy mole Edgar, and the adorable badger Michelle, who is the niece of their teacher Cornelius.
One day, in Furling Class, the four kids go on a nature ramble with Cornelius, which ends in a boat ride. At the end of the ramble, the Furlings go back to the forest to find out that it has been destroyed with poison gas. (A tanker truck blew a tire from a broken glass bottle, went off the road, and spilled a load of chlorine gas.)
A frightened Michelle goes into her house, only to breathe some of the gas and get sick. Abigail manages to save her, and the Furlings go to Cornelius' house nearby for shelter. There, Cornelius tells the Furlings that they need to fetch two herbs that can help Michelle--lungwort and eyebright. The Furlings head off for their journey the next day.
After encountering a hungry owl, a flock of religious wrens, and ';Yellow Dragons'; (better known as construction equipment), the Furlings make it to the faraway meadow with the herbs they need. After collecting some eyebright, the Furlings discover that the lungwort is on a giant cliff, out of reach. Suddenly, Russell gets an idea: the Furlings can use Cornelius' flying machine, the Flapper-Wing-a-Ma-Thing, to get to the lungwort.
After a memorable flight sequence, the Furlings manage to get the lungwort, and they steer the Flapper-Wing-a-Ma-Thing back for Dapplewood. They crash-land back in the forest after a storm, and bring the herbs to Michelle and Cornelius. After a group of humans (who have come to clean up the gas' mess) save Edgar from an old trap, the Furlings help Michelle get better; the next day, she wakes up from her coma.
