Actually D'artaghan was a minor character is this film, I believe he was played by Gabriel Byrne. The main character was played by Leonardo DiCaprio, but I forget the character's name. This story is in a way a sequel to The Three Musketeers, but takes place about 20 years later.About a movie The Man in the Iron Mask (1998 film)?
Stupid, yet with a brilliant heart. I guess you could say he's courageous, but really its his love for that kid that made him sacrifice himself. Great movie.
D'artanan, well of course he was the hero, next to Phillipe of course. He died at the end but he was not the main character, that was King Louis played by Leonardo Dicaprio (it also turned out that he was Louis and Phillipe's father).


Athos was a very mysterious character. He was D'artanan's best friend (played by John Malkovich).


Then there was the priest (played by Jeremy Irons). He was like the leader of the muskateers.


Then last but not least, there was poor Porthos (played Gerard Depardeau). He was so funny! And sad at the same time.
